Bathinda: Ahead of the rally at Moga to be addressed by chief minister
Bhagwant Mann, the police had a showdown with the activists of Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) and Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee (KMSC). As per sources, some teachers planning to hold a protest were put under house arrest.
"Farm activists had assembled at Dunneke village near Moga grain market, the venue of the CM's rally, but the police locked them in a nearby religious place. They were not allowed to move out. Some farmers succeeded in reaching Moga grain market, but were not allowed to reach the rally venue," said a source.
KMSC leader Satnam Singh Pannu said that AAP govt toeing the line of Narendra Modi-led central govt. Meanwhile, Congress MLAs Pargat Singh and Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal took to social media in taking on the AAP govt. "Authoritarianism of Aam Aadmi Party on full display ahead of CM Bhagwant Mann's rally in Moga. Police are being sent to the homes of teachers in nearby constituencies, just to prevent them from reaching the rally and exposing the false claims of so-called ‘Sikhya Kranti," stated Pargat Singh.
