Forever Diamonds

, Rajneesh Verma, was remanded in three-day police custody on Thursday. He was arrested from near ISBT, Sector 17, on Wednesday night. Police said a few objects, including a DVD recorder, allegedly taken by the three fake robbers, have to be recovered from him.

Verma, whose bail applications were rejected twice, staged the fake robbery of diamond jewelry worth Rs 14 crore, in collusion with his elder brother, Vinod Verma, from his Sector 17 showroom on May 1.

Later, the three alleged robbers, including a woman, were arrested. During interrogation, they said the masterminds brought them to Forever Diamonds saying that a Bollywood film is being shot and they would get a chance to participate in the shooting on May 1, police said.

The "robbers" arrested were identified as Shivani, 36, of Maloya, Vaibhav Verma, 37, of Sector 49, and Ankur Jolly, 22, of Zirakpur. Shivani is a salesgirl at a jewellery showroom in Sector 37 while Vaibhav and Ankur are relatives of the brothers who masterminded the "robbery".

, registered on the statements of the Vermas and added sections of forgery and cheating, making both of them accused in fresh amendments. A case was registered at the Sector 17 police station.
