Bathinda: A 30-year-old woman was hacked to death at the Anganwadi centre where she worked in Punjab's Muktsar district on Wednesday.
Lambi DSP Harbans Singh said police had arrested a man who the deceased had befriended on Facebook, but had later stopped replying to. "Accused Karandeep Singh, who belongs to Amritsar's Mahlawala village, felt insulted because of this and attacked her. We have also recovered the weapon used in the crime," said the DSP.
Deceased Mandeep Kaur had been working as a helper at the Anganwadi centre for long. At 9am on Wednesday, she had just reached the centre when Karandeep reached the spot witha sharp-edged weapon, and started attacking her with it on the head and neck.
