With just a week left for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board examinations for classes X and XII, teachers and experts have asked both students not to fall prey to stress.

CHANDIGARH: With just a week left for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board examinations for classes X and XII, teachers and experts have asked both students not to fall prey to stress.
Rakesh Sachdeva, principal, DAV Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 15, said, "Parents should not put undue pressure on the kids. The kids who have not studied the whole year should co-ordinate with their teachers and study only important topics which can make them pass the examinations".

She added, "Children should not take stress and take breaks between study periods as it will help them concentrate better. They should also take care of their diet. Entertainment can be a stress-reliever."
The exams for both classes would begin from Saturday, March 1. While Class X exams would begin with Marathi, Spanish and painting, English would open the schedule for Class XII. The Class X exams would end on March 19, while Class XII would go on till April 17. All the exams would begin at 10.30am.
A few students were ready to show their prowess over the subjects. Jashan Chandel, a student at Gurukul School, Sector 20, said, "I have been studying and concentrating on all my subjects and examination is time to show how hard you have worked."
On the other hand, the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE) board has announced the examination timetable for ICSE Class X from March 3.
WHAT TO DO
Prepare well in advance: Start studying much before the exam as you will not feel tense that you have not prepared an important topic or subject
Learn, do not mug up: Understand the concept and then, memorize it. In this way, you will never forget any important point
Maintain a regular sleep pattern: A regular seven hours of sleep is mandatory for the body to function well
Developing a positive mindset: Spend time with people who have a positive effect and try developing positive thoughts in your mind
