Chandigarh: Expect light rain in the coming days, says Met department
CHANDIGARH:The current climatic conditions indicates possibility of light to moderate possibility of rain spells on Monday and Tuesday, claimed met department officials.
The forecast for Monday and Tuesday indicates partly cloudy sky with light to moderately strong winds along with showers.
However, mimicking the weather conditions from Saturday, the Tricity on Sunday witnessed a rather heavy downpour making. The downpour that began by as early as 5am, ended only after 8pm, while the intensity of showers reduced significantly soon after.
Two days of continuous rainfall in the city has also impacted the average city temperature as the mercury has rolled down a few points. The maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded at 25.7 degree Celsius and the minimum was recorded at 21.2 degree Celsius.
Speaking to TOI, Surinder Paul, director, UT MeT department said, “Two days of rainfall has certainly made the atmosphere more pleasant. However, against our earlier predictions for the new week on Saturday, the possibility of light to moderate rainfall continuous to exist with the same expected for Tuesday as well. However, these will be among the last spells of rain before the withdrawal of monsoon begins.”
Apart from the Tricity, parts of Haryana and Punjab can also expect light to moderate spells of rain with partly cloudy sky for Monday and Tuesday.
