Hisar: Former Ratia MLA Laxman Napa rejoined the Bharatiya Janata Party (
BJP) on Saturday in Uklana in the presence of state BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli, Hansi MLA Vinod Bhayana and Fatehabad district president Praveen Joda.
Napa had won the Ratia Assembly seat as a BJP candidate in 2019.
Speaking after rejoining, Napa said he had joined the
Congress briefly after being denied a ticket in the 2024 Assembly elections. "I did not actively participate on Congress platforms. I have no ill will towards anyone. It was the BJP that gave me the opportunity to become an MLA," he said, adding he would work wherever the party assigns him.
On his differences with former Sirsa MP Sunita Duggal, Napa said, "There is no permanent enmity in politics. We will work together to strengthen the party."
Duggal said she had been informed about Napa's return and respected the party leadership's decision. "The organisation takes the call, and I respect that," she said, adding that political shifts are not uncommon.
