<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">FARIDKOT: The additional sessions judge Fatehdeep Singh has on Tuesday sentenced eight robbers to life imprisonment for killing two persons including a woman during a robbery committed in the house of a cloth merchant of Jaitu town of the district about four years ago. The court has also awarded a separate imprisonment of 14 year each to the convicts for house trespass.<br /><br />The incident had occurred on the intervening night of January 11 and 12, 2000.

Eight robbers, armed with sharp edged weapons, had sneaked into the house of the cloth merchant Kamal Kant. The burglars attacked the family members when the latter raised hue and cry. Kamal''s father Surinder Kumar and sister Sushma were killed while Kamal and his mother Reshma were seriously injured. The burglars decamped with valuables.<br /><br />A case was registered against eight unidentified persons at Jaitu police station. <br /><br />Following information by a resident of Faridkot, the accused Ilmas Mohammad,Dulli, Setha, Tasam, Bana, Chita Sudar Hussain and Ganga were arrested from Faridkot after about 11 months of the incident. During interrogation the accused had confessed of several other crimes including murders, robberies and thefts regarding which separate cases are pending against them in different courts.<br /><br /><formid=367815></formid=367815></div> </div>
