Observing World Cancer day 2021- 'I Am, And I Will'

On World Cancer Day, February 4, a multi-specialty hospital in Mohali hosted an events. Echoing the World Cancer Day 2021 theme, 'I Am, And I Will' patients and staff at the hospital participated wholeheartedly. A lady holds a placard showing resilience as the key to beating cancer.

Balloons released by patients and staff

Both patients and staff present there released balloons to mark the occasion. Doctors and medical staff came together to spread awareness about the disease. Cancer survivors also shared their personal experiences of having beaten cancer, and about inspiring others to fight the disease.

Soaring spirits that won the cancer battle

Cancer survivors at the hospital were seen holding placards spreading awareness on World Cancer Day at the private hospital. Balloons coloured in the hues symbolic of defeating cancer, pink, purple and white were floated in the air to mark freedom from cancer and also to demonstrate the soaring spirit that fights the insidious disease.

Inspiring cancer patients with hope

Some placards displayed the word hope and the phrase 'I can we can' in an endeavour to inspire cancer patients across the world to fight the disease with hope and the desire to stay strong on the path of fighting cancer, no matter how tough it is.

Doctors advise early diagnosis to survive cancer

On the occasion, Dr. Rajeev Bedi, Director, Medical Oncology, said, 'The treatment works best when cancer gets diagnosed early. It often means you do treatment with curative intent with combination of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy. "

Doctors support survivors

With the entire hospital decorated with pink, purple and white balloons, the day turned into a memorable and touching one as the medical fraternity cheered for those who had beaten cancer and also those still fighting it.
