Dushyant hints at contesting from Uchana
Jind: Expelled from the INLD, Hisar MP Dushyant Chautala hinted at him contesting the next assembly election from Uchana constituency on Friday, saying “Uchana ka hee hu aur Uchana ka hee rahunga (I am from Uchana and will be continue to be from here)”.
Even as Dushyant made the statement, his estranged uncle, Haryana leader of opposition and INLD senior leader Abhay Singh Chautala, snapped at journalists for asking him questions over Dushyant’s supporters locking the party’s office in Jind.
Earlier, Dushyant’s statement on Uchana came during an interaction with the media, when he was asked about his plans for the 2014 assembly elections. He was speaking to journalists after he addressed a workers’ gathering for inviting them to his family’s rally in Jind on December 9.
Later, Abhay visited the same venue in Uchana for gathering support for the INLD’s Jan Adhikar Rally on December 1. After visiting Uchana, Abhay reached Jind. On getting this information, Dushyant's supporters locked the party office around 4.30pm. INLD’s Julana MLA, Parmender Singh Dhull, and several party workers stood outside the office for more than half an hour. After waiting for long, all of them reached the MLA’s residence. Abhay, too, reached there and called the in-charge of the party office. When asked why the office was locked, the in-charge said he was out as his wife was ill and he did not lock it. Abhay, meanwhile, snapped at journalists for asking him about the party office being locked. “Media ko aur koi kaam nahi hai kya? Aur media yahi chahti hai ki INLD mai vivaad kaisay rahey (Does media have no other work? It only wants one or another dispute in the INLD),” he said.
