CHANDIGARH: The pass percentage in theannual middle examination, conducted by Haryana Board of School Education, is55.79 as against 56.65 registered last year. The result will be declared onWednesday.Board chairman OP Chaudhry in a press release on Tuesdaystated that the boys had this time fared better than girls. The pass percentagein case of boys is 56.65 as against 54.63 in case of girls.However, the girlshad bagged more positions in the first ten of the merit list, Chaudhrysaid.He said out of 2.23 lakh students of government schools, whohad taken the examination, 39.75 per cent passed. In case of the students ofprivate schools, the pass percentage is 74.73.The board chairmansaid that the result of the examination would be displayed in all the schools onWednesday.The heads of all the institutions of the state had been asked to getthe copies of the result gazette from the offices of district educationofficers.For the first time in the 35 years of the history of theboard, the result of middle annual examination has been decalred within 35 daysof the conclusion of the examination.
The board secretary claimedthat for the first time the result was being provided at the door steps of thecandidates through interactive voice response system phone No.011-24357270,helpline No. 01664-254000 set up at board''s headquarters at Bhiwani.The resultcan also be down loaded from internet websites www.results.nic.in andwww.haryana.nic.in, www.hbse.nic.in.
