NEW DELHI: A morning stroll for health's sake can be risky while you are on your won. A woman learnt this lesson the hard way when she was attacked by a pack of stray dogs in Jalandhar.
A CCTV video of the chilling incident which occurred in December , last year, near Doordarshan Enclave Phase-2 in Jalandhar, has surfaced again highlighting the dangers of doing morning walks alone.
The video shows a 65-year-old woman was attacked, mauled and dragged by a pack of seven to eight stray dogs while she was returning from a gurdwara.
According to news agency PTI, the woman, who was walking alone, suffered more than 25 dog bites across her body and a severe head injury.
She was rescued by a young man who noticed the attack from his rooftop and rushed to chase away the dogs.
The victim was immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital.
According the woman's husband, the attack occurred during her routine morning walk, a practice that has now left the community fearful.
