KAITHAL: No police personnel in Kaithal district of Haryana will be allowed to use their mobile phones during duty hours. In case of an emergency, only the mobile phone of the concerned in-charge will be used. Kaithal SP Rajesh Kalia stated that strict action will be taken against any male or female police officer who creates reels or videos in uniform and posts them on social media. Such acts tarnish the image of the police department, and a complete ban has been imposed on them. If any police officer is found violating this rule, departmental action will be taken against them. Kaithal SP Rajesh Kalia while speaking with media persons today stated that Haryana DGP Shatrujeet Kapur has issued orders to impose a ban on the use of mobile phones and other electronic devices by police personnel during duty hours. The aim of this directive is to prevent distraction during duty and improve efficiency.
SP mentioned that today’s era is dominated by social media, and most police personnel spend their time on it. They are constantly holding their phones, looking at them more than official files. Due to this phone addiction, investigation officers get distracted, which also disturbs their mindset. If the officers remain focused on their duties, there will be no need to check the phone. Therefore, mobile usage will only be allowed for matters related to investigation or other official work, he added.
Police personnel will not be allowed to use their mobile phones or any other electronic devices during duty hours. They will have to deposit their phones with senior officers, who will maintain a record of their usage
