Chandigarh: Haryana Police on Tuesday nabbed a criminal, who was on the most wanted list of Delhi Police, from Sonipat district. A countrymade pistol and six live cartridges were recovered from him.
A police department spokesman said the accused was identified as Monu, a resident of Lalheri village in Sonipat district. He was absconding after a deadly attack on a Delhi police team.
Delhi Police had also announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for his arrest.
During preliminary interrogation, it was revealed that 18 cases pertaining to murder, attempt to murder, loot, dacoity, kidnapping and under the Arms Act were registered against him in different police stations. He was arrested near Anil Vihar in Sonipat following a tip-off.
A case under Arms Act has been registered against Monu at Sonipat City police station. He was taken on police remand after being produced in the court.
