Deepender flays PM for linking Sir Chhotu Ram to one community

Chandigarh: Rohtak MP and chief whip of Congress in the Lok Sabha, Deepender Singh Hooda on Wednesday flayed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for linking Sir Chhotu Ram to a particular community. Sir Chhotu Ram was a messiah of farmers and a leader and guide of all 36 communities of Haryana, Deepender said in Badhra.

“The PM has once again shown the divide and rule formula of BJP and the Sangh. The response and mood of those present during Modi’s rally, especially the hooting, has brought everything to the fore,” he said.

He said he went by protocol to attend the function as he was the local MP and also because it was a Central government-sponsored event. “Later, it turned out to be a BJP programme sponsored by the Union government funds. Hence, I left the place,” said Deepender.

“We expected the PM to make some announcements related to farmers. He should have announced subsidy or special sops for farmers. As for the rail factory in Sonipat district, it was little too late. We got the project of the rail coach factory sanctioned. But the BJP government manipulated and made it a much smaller project by converting it into the rail coaches repair factory,” he alleged.
