Dappar toll plaza vandalised

Mohali: A group of sarpanches and panches headed towards the residence of the Haryana chief minister vandalised the toll plaza at Dappar and proceeded without paying toll fee. They had an argument with the toll operator. The toll plaza manager claimed that around 80 vehicles passed through the toll plaza without paying toll fee. Toll plaza manager Deepak Arora said that a few boom barriers were broken and other equipment was also damaged. “The sarpanches said that they would not pay toll as they were not travellers but morcha activists. They had heated arguments with the toll operators,” Arora said. Derabassi  ASP Darpan Ahluwalia said, “The police party was rushed to the spot the moment we received a call. Most of the vehicles had already crossed the plaza when the police reached. No complaint was filed by the toll plaza management because of which no case was registered.” tnn
