BATHINDA: A Mansa court has restrained music composer Salim Merchant from releasing, using, broadcasting, uploading or streaming the song ‘Jandi Vaar’, produced in collaboration with late Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu aka Sidhu Moose Wala, till September 5. Moose Wala’s mother Charan Kaur had filed a petition to restrain Merchant Records from releasing the song.
The court of chief judicial magistrate Sumit Bhalla issued the notice to defendants for September 5. Salim Merchant had announced the song’s release on September 2, with allowing to make a part of the song to come in public domain on August 31. The parents of Moose Wala, through their counsel, contended that the song might cause unrecoverable loss to them. Music composer Salim Merchant had on August 25 announced to release the song of Sidhu Moose Wala with female singer Afsana Khan on September 2.
