Cops say fog wreaking havoc on roads as eight die in three days at Patiala

“Fog is suspected to be the reason behind some accidents. Sometimes, on a highways, a sudden small stretches of fog poses threat to the commuters and becomes key in causing accidents,” police said.
On Saturday, City Rajpura police booked an unidentified truck driver under sections of causing death by negligence for hitting, Manga Singh of Rajpura, on Friday late evening. The victim succumbed to his injuries during treatment at a government hospital.
Similarly, Shambu police have booked an unidentified driver for causing death on the complaint of Vijay Kumar who told cops that his brother-in-law Bamab Kumar was hit by an unidentified vehicle when he was riding his motorcycle. Bamab was rushed to a hospital, however later succumbed to his injuries.
Sadar Patiala police have booked a car driver for ramming his vehicle into a two-wheeler, following which the rider died on the spot. In another case, Jaswant Singh of Kaurjiwala village told cops that his relative Amritpal Singh was hit by an unidentified vehicle on Nabha road near village Rauni and succumbed to his injuried during treatment at a hospital.
