Cops identify victim in IT Park homicide
Panchkula: A day after an unidentified woman was found murdered at an empty plot in IT Park, Sector 22, police have identified the deceased as a Khark Mangoli resident.Chandimandir police station SHO inspector Prithvi Singh said the deceased was identified as Shiwani, 38. She is survived by her husband Bittoo and her five children, he added.Her husband Bittoo told the police that Shiwani had gone out for some work from the last four days and he found out about the murder from the police.The deceased’s identity was traced by the cops through her cellphone details and other inputs. SHO Prithvi said, “The investigation is underway and we are working on tracing the accused.”Police officials on Wednesday received a call at around 11.42am regarding a dead body of a female lying in an empty plot next to the HSIIDC office boundary wall. A team of police along with inspector Prithvi Singh and crime branch teams reached the spot and found that the victim had deep injury wounds on her left eye, above it and in the middle of her head. The cops called forensic experts, who collected samples and took pictures of the spot.Police registered a case under sections 302 (punishment for murder) and 201 ( causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Chandimandir police station. The accused is/ are yet to be traced.
