KARNAL: The district police have frozen properties valued at Rs 5 crore of a drug dealer and his family members. The properties include three residential houses, one tractor, an SUV and seven acres of agriculture land. Karnal SP Ganga Ram Punia said, "The accused, identified as Kehar Singh of Dhantori village in Kurukshetra district, had earned this property through narcotics trade. We got orders from the competent authority in New Delhi to freeze the said property of the accused." The action was initiated under the provisions of the relevant section of the NDPS Act so that the accused would not be able to sell his property to anyone, The SP added. Punia said the competent authority had given 45 days to the accused to submit his plea.
