The trial for the Aikom murder case was slated for August 17, 18 and 19 under fast-track court.
Terminder Singh counsel for Aikom Singh said, “The case was adjourned for August 18. Seerat could not be produced as we were appraised that due to her shifting to Ludhiana jail, police was unable to produce her in court on Thursday. Tomorrow the statement of complainant will be recorded.”
The complainant in the case is Darshan Singh, brother of Aikom Singh Dhillon. Police in its chargesheet has named 56 witnesses including the son of Aikom and Seerat.

Mohali police in their chargesheet have nailed Seerat under Section 302 (for murder) and Section 201 (for destruction of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for murdering her husband Aikom Singh Dhillon. Police have also not found involvement of any other person than Seerat in the case.
Police believe that the case is purely based on circumstantial evidences which directly accuse Seerat for murdering Aikom. Secondly Seerat’s confession to have killed Aikom is the prime evidence with police.
