CHANDIGARH: Burning tyres to chase dreams is what city women are getting hooked to. Thrill for speed and adventure is being met with car rallies, which they have taken a shine to in the past few years. The city car divas have an eclectic taste when it comes to choosing smart wheels. They fearlessly tame the SUV beasts and swerve the luxury sedans with elan.

Nidhi Aulakh has been into cars for more than a decade and has been participating and winning various rallies in and around the city. She runs a finance company, but takes out time to pursue her passion. Her honeymoon too was a car adventure trip. "I have been driving since college days, as my parents were supporting. Then I got married to a man who shared the passion. So, we went on our honeymoon manoeuvring the tough terrain of Himachal Pradesh." When it comes to cars, city women swear by change. "From Gypsy to Safari, I have steered many a car. My recent love is Thar, on which we went to Ladakh. However, now I am eyeing a sports car," says Aulakh.
For Simmy Dhaliwal, her recent wedding gift, a Mahindra Thar, has ignited her passion for off-roading. "I otherwise don't like to drive, but I love the off-roading adventure. Earlier we had a Gypsy, but now it's the Thar on which I will go for a rally." Dhaliwal has also gone on biking trips with her husband. "Once we went for an all-India trip and we have been to Ladakh twice on the bike," she says.
