Chandigarh: Chandigarh Congress on Saturday celebrated the ‘
Constitution Day’ at Congress Bhawan, Sector 35, by reading out the Preamble of the Constitution and taking an oath to work for a pluralistic, and democratic India.
A lecture on evolution of the Constitution as reflected in judicial pronouncements over the years was organised in the occasion. Delivering the keynote address Dr. DN Jauhar, a noted law educator and former vice-chancellor of Dr. BR Ambedkar University, Agra, stated that for two years the constituent assembly toiled to bring out the document, which is a now known as the Constitution . He urged the people to read the debates of constituent assembly to learn that the letter and the spirit of the Constitution represents the ethos of India. tnn
