Congress to go alone in Punjab; rules out alliance

Singh today ruled out the possibility of alliance with any political party or group in the state, saying the party was of its own firmly placed to win the elections with massive majority.

He also announced that he will not take a single minute in putting chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, deputy CM and son Sukhbir Badal and his brother in law Bikram Singh Majithia behind bars, for the way they had destroyed and devastated Punjab, particularly by supplying and spreading drugs.

Interacting with reporters along the sidelines of the 'Halke vich Captain' programme here today, he said, he had suggested a broad based alliance of secular forces earlier, but the situation and circumstances have now changed and the party was way ahead of others. had already merged into the Congress and the BSP had decided to contest of its own.

He said, the massive response the party was getting during its programmes was indicative of the times to come. "You will be having a Congress government with landslide victory", he asserted, while pointing out the ruling Akali-BJP alliance was just fighting for survival while the Aam Aadmi Party had already disintegrated.

Earlier during the interaction with the workers of Ropar assembly segment Capt Amarinder promised to bring to the book entire Badal clan for the false cases against the Congress workers and Bikram Majithia for supplying and spreading the synthetic drugs and devastating an entire generation. "I wonder how they can sleep in peace after doing all this to the state, particularly the youth", he said.
