LUDHIANA: Punjab Chief minister Amarinder Singh found two of his legislative colleagues walking out on him to hold a separate function on the 60th birth anniversary of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Ex-transport minister Tej Parkash Singh and jails minister Malkiat Singh Birmi organised a parallel function at Samrala Chowk.
Hurt over spoils of office held centrestage.
Birmi said that in the recent downsizing of the council of ministers he was retained as parliamentary secretary only on personal intervention of party president Sonia Gandhi.
Amarinder, his deputy Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and state party president H S Hanspal said, at separate venues, how Gandhi''s sacrifice united the country.
