CM Saini addresses rally in Nuh, says area known for ‘resilient people ’
Chandigarh: Haryana chief minister Nayab Saini addressed a rally in Nuh on Sunday, where he said that the region is "known across the state for its hardworking, self-respecting and resilient people." He was accompanied by Union minister Rao Inderjit Singh. Notably, the BJP is struggling to expand in minority-dominated areas of Mewat district."The soil of Mewat always upheld the traditions of courage, sacrifice and dignity. From the First War of Independence in 1857 to the country's eventual freedom, the contribution of the people of this region remains etched in golden letters in history," Saini said.
Prior to the rally, the chief minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 16 development projects worth Rs 47.36 crore. These included the inauguration of 11 projects at a cost of Rs 21crore, and 5 projects at a cost of Rs 25cr. Saini said the overwhelming turnout at the rally is proof of people's deep faith in the BJP govt's intent, policies and welfare initiatives. It is this trust, he said, that gave the Bharatiya Janata Party the opportunity to serve Haryana for a third consecutive term. He assured that no stone would be left unturned in ensuring rapid and inclusive development of the region.Highlighting progress in the Sohna Assembly constituency, he said that during the past 11 years, 62 chief minister announcements were made for the area. Of these, 49 were completed and 13 are under progress. He further said that over the last 11 years, Rs 1,515 crore was spent on development works in the Sohna constituency. In comparison, only Rs 222 crore was spent during the 10-year tenure of the previous Congress govt. Besides this, between 2014 and 2024, the Public Works Department spent Rs 285 crore on development works in the Sohna area. Since 2024, an additional Rs 5.70 crore was spent, while projects worth Rs 407 crore are in the pipeline. Referring to the Sankalp Patra–2024, the chief minister said the govt fulfilled 60 out of 217 Sankalps within 1 year of the Assembly elections, while work is underway on 157 Sankalps. He also informed that the Haryana Assembly Budget Session will begin on Feb 20."Under the Ayushman Bharat–Chirayu Yojana, around 26 lakh patients received free treatment worth Rs 4,126 crore. Free dialysis services started in all govt hospitals and medical colleges for kidney patients. On Feb 11, Day Care Cancer Centres were inaugurated in 17 districts, taking the total to 22 districts offering easier access to cancer treatment," the CM said. Speaking on the occasion, Union minister Rao Inderjit Singh thanked the chief minister for projects worth over Rs 47 crore. He said that since 2014, both the Centre and State govts worked in tandem for Haryana's development, especially in infrastructure. Referring to the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor, he said its completion would significantly benefit the Tauru area. He requested repairs to the KMP Expressway and sought Gurugram-like development works for Tauru. MSID: 128384301 413 |
