CM Mann embarks on Netherlands visit to attract investments

Chandigarh: Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday embarked on a visit to the Netherlands to strengthen bilateral partnerships and seek investment in sectors such as food processing, logistics, metallurgy, pharmaceuticals and information technology. The visit is intended to support the state's ongoing industrial and economic initiatives.During the visit, the CM will discuss potential partnerships in key sectors to support industrial growth. He intends to present Punjab's investment case by highlighting its location, transport links to the National Capital Region and ports, and established industrial clusters. He will also cite the state's power supply, available workforce and current economic policies as advantages for investors. Through a series of roadshows, one-to-one business meetings and interactions with major global corporations and institutions, the delegation aims to position Punjab as a compelling investment destination for European countries and bring new investments to the state. Mann said in a press statement, "This vision is simple and clear: to make Punjab a preferred destination for global industry by offering stability in policy, speed in decision-making and a governance system that respects the time and trust of investors." He added that the Netherlands is a major foreign direct investor in India and several Dutch companies already operate in Punjab. For instance, the CM laid the foundation stone for the De Heus factory in Rajpura in Oct 2023. Additionally, the Indo-Dutch Centre of Excellence for Potato is currently operational in the state, reflecting the collaboration between Punjab and the Netherlands. The delegation, led by Mann, will present key governance and regulatory reforms introduced by the Punjab govt, including the FastTrack Punjab single-window system offering more than 173 G2B services, auto-deemed approvals, PAN-based business identifiers and amendments to the Punjab Right to Business Act enabling time-bound in-principle approvals. In Dec 2025, Mann led a 10-day delegation to Japan and South Korea to encourage investment ahead of the 2026 Progressive Punjab Investors' Summit.
