CM hands over 5,000 Chilgoza Pine seedlings to Bhutan govt

Shimla: Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday met a delegation of Bhutan govt and said that it was a matter of happiness that the state govt was strengthening its ties by handing over 5,000 Chilgoza Pine seedlings to the Bhutan govt as a token of friendship from the people of Himachal Pradesh.A delegation of the Kingdom of Bhutan, led by its deputy chief of mission, Royal Bhutanese Embassy, Tashi Peldon, and minister counsellor Chimi Wangmo, called on the chief minister in Shimla and discussed various mutual relations, including an agreement of friendship. Sukhu said that 50 kg of seeds collected by self-help groups under the JICA project would also be provided to Bhutan in Oct.The chief minister said that relations between India and Bhutan always remained cordial. He said that an agreement of friendship was signed in 1949 between both countries, which was renewed in 2007.
