AMBALA: A student studying in class 10 was stabbed in the back by a class 9 student at
SD Vidya School
in
Ambala Cantonment
on Monday morning. The school administration rushed the student to civil hospital at
Ambala
Cantonment. The police have taken the statements of the injured 15-year-old boy and have started the investigations.
According to information, the victim was standing on the ground inside the school premises. Suddenly, he was stabbed from the back by his junior with a sharp knife after which the accused fled the spot. The injured child was taken to the civil hospital by his teachers and the school’s security guard informed the police as well as the parents about the incident.The police were of the view that the attack was launched due to some personal grudges between the students. However, the injured boy in his statement said that he and the accused both used to play football in the school team and did not have any grudges. alleged that their son had suffered a 5-inch deep stab wound and that the accused should be punished for the act.
The principal of the school, Desh Bandhu, also reached the hospital and said that the school staff conducts regular checks on the students but it was not possible to check each and every child in the school. He said that the parents of the children should take responsibility themselves and should ensure that their child was not bringing anything that could be used as a weapon to the school. “The school would take a strict action against the accused. Friends of both the students involved in the case were also being interrogated,” said the principal. The parents’ association also reached the spot after receiving the information and condemned the incident. They had put the allegations on the school management stating that the school management was busy in collecting and increasing school fund and was not taking care of the students.

, Vijay Kumar, said that the police have arrested the accused and the police would produce him before the juvenile court on Tuesday. “In the initial investigations, it was found out that they had some old grudges and the accused stabbed the victim in the back with a knife. The weapon has been recovered and the accused child would be produced before the juvenile court on Tuesday,” SHO said.
