Chandigarh: More than 1,000 activists of the Chandigarh Congress on Wednesday participated in the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra. The yatra was going from Mandi Gobindgarh to Khanna. The slogan chanting party activists started for Mandi Gobindgarh in the morning in buses under the leadership of Pawan Kumar Bansal, former city MP and H S Lucky, president of Chandigarh Pradesh Congress. Film actress Jonita Doda, specially came to Chandigarh to participate in yatra. Rahul began his yatra on Wednesday by paying obeisance at Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib early in the morning. While speaking to the media person present on the occasion, Bansal said the yatra is sending a forceful message across the country to counter the divisive forces, which are spreading poison of hate in the society. The yatra is also aimed at highlighting anti-people policies of the BJP, which are responsible for rising economic inequalities, inflation and unemployment in the country.
The office bearers of Pradesh Congress Committee, presidents and office bearers of district Congress committee, block Congress committees, Mahila Congress, Congress Sewa Dal, Youth Congress and party cells participated in the yatra. TNN
