Chandigarh: On Monday, Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) organised an event to celebrate Mother’s Day and awarding ceremony of “Haste Angan” to acknowledge the importance of motherhood and to recognise the efforts of Anganwadi centres of Chandigarh at the multi-purpose hall, Snehalaya.
Harjinder Kaur, chairperson, CCPCR said that the Haste Angan project was aimed at ensuring grass-root level health and hygiene awareness and protection of children by strengthening Anganwadi centers of Chandigarh.
She said that the initiative focused on providing a positive and hygienic environment to children and young mothers. She said that mothers needed to be physically and mentally strong to make happy homes for children.
Mayor Sarabjit Kaur, who was the chief guest, appreciated the endeavours of CCPCR towards providing a holistic environment to children through this project. She congratulated nodal officers of ‘Haste Angan’ and their team for providing welfare and protection services to children at the grassroots level.
