dharamsala: samdhong rimpoche, the de facto prime minister of the tibetan government-in-exile, said here, on thursday, "the dalai lama had no plans of converting hindus to buddhism". he said that such news reports appearing in some sections of the media were untrue. "this is irresponsible journalism promoted by those who have an axe to grind. "the remarks of his holiness jagadguru shankaracharya that the dalai lama was trying to convert hindus to buddhism were shocking.a clarification was called for," he added. the de facto prime minister said that the dalai lama has always professed that each person should remain true to their religion. "people who are desirous of studying buddhism, to supplement their spiritual growth, need not embrace the religion," he added.
