Chapter on Haryana leaders to remain in textbook

Chandigarh: Faced with criticism from its own leaders, the BJP government in Haryana on Tuesday announced to reintroduce the chapter 'Haryana Gaurav' in the book 'Jhilmil 5' for Class V students of government schools in the state. The chapter, which is a part of the moral science book and had earlier been removed by the state government, contains information about leaders like Sir Chhotu Ram, former deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal, first chief minister of Haryana Bhagwat Dayal Sharma, Rao Birender Singh, who is the father of Union minister Rao Inderjit; and Ranbir Singh Hooda, father of former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Haryana education minister Ram Bilas Sharma confirmed the government's decision.
