Chandigarh police register FIR against 11 immigration firms in a day
Chandigarh: The UT police conducted a special drive against immigration firms and registered a total of 11 FIRs against the owners of these agencies for allegedly deceiving and cheating people on the pretext of providing visas and overseas job opportunities, and violating the Immigration Act and orders issued by the district magistrate, Chandigarh.The Sector 3 police arrested Anu Thakur, owner of M/s Milestone Immigration Company, Sector 8, for allegedly running her advertisement on Instagram regarding work permits and construction work visas for Dubai. She also did not conduct the verification of her employees serving in her firm. The Sector 3 police also booked Alka Thakur, owner of M/s Greenland Overseas Consultancy, Sector 8, for not conducting police verification of her employees.The Sector 17 police booked Raj Kumar, alias Rajbir, a resident of Kumbhra village, Mohali, Punjab, owner of ‘Abroad Plus Consultant'; Sagar Singh of Ferozepur, the owner of Immigration Consultancy Agency, and Gagandeep Singh of Sector 22/D, Chandigarh, the owner of ‘G S Visa Point Private Limited Immigration' under Section 24 of the Immigration Act. The Sector 19 police arrested Harshdeep of Nangal, HP, owner of Calgiri Overseas, Sector 20, and seized one laptop and an entry register from his possession.
The Sector 31 police also arrested Rupinder (35) from Rupnagar, Punjab, and Mohd Arif (26) from Housing Board Flats, Maloya, Chandigarh. They were arrested and subsequently released on bail. The investigation led to the seizure of three company stamps, Rupinder's PAN Card, and Aadhar Cards of both suspects.The Sector 34 police registered a case against Dream Future Consultant, located at Sector 34, Chandigarh, and arrested Vikas Malhotra. Additional cases were registered against Vikas Batra of Toronto Wings, Piccadilly, Chandigarh, and a separate case was registered against Vinay Choudhary of Veracity Overseas, First Floor, Piccadilly Square.The Maloya police registered a case against Rajveer Singh and Satyam Bhatnagar of Patiala. They operated an unauthorised immigration agency, Satyam Immigration Services, at Maloya. During a raid, authorities apprehended Rajveer Singh and recovered a CPU, approximately 60 passports, and Rs 2.6 lakh cash from their office. MSID:: 118184797 413 |
