Chandigarh mayor focuses on woman power at seminar

CHANDIGARH: The time has come for women to rebuild relations. Woman power can be utilized in a constructive way. They have a major role in stopping female feticide, and need to take strict action against gender exploitation, said Chandigarh Mayor Poonam Sharma at a seminar on The Role of Women in Rebuilding Relations. The seminar was organized by the women’s wing of Chandigarh Press Club.
Poonam Sharma said that women should have the qualities of passion, compassion, sincerity and patience. She has the capability to change the society. She said society should change their attitude so that in future we don’t need to start son save campaign as we are doing with girl save campaign. Sharma even shared her experiences related to women and their dignity.
In seminar, a panel of eminent speakers from various fields from Punjab University, PGI and Max Hospital deliberated on how the role of women has changed in the current scenario. Sandeep Dogra, Vice President and Zonal Head, Max Hospitals Punjab presided over the function.
