CHANDIGARH: A man died on the spot after he fell from the
fourth floor
of his residence at Khuda Lahora village on the wee hours of Friday.
Sector 11 police have initiated inquest proceedings in the matter and are trying to ascertain the circumstances under which the man fell from the rooftop of the building.
Police said the deceased has been identified as Satpal, 25, a resident of Khuda Lahora village. According to information, the victim was sleeping on the roof of his house, when he woke up around 4.30 am he accidentally slipped from the rooftop and fell from the fourth floor of his house. He sustained severe head injuries. After hearing the noise, his family members came out of the house and found him lying in a pool of blood outside the house. His family members informed the police about the incident and a PCR reached the spot.
Cops rushed Satpal to PGI , where doctors declared him brought dead. His body has been kept at the mortuary for autopsy. Police said as per information received from his family members, Satpal worked as a salesman with private company in city and was unmarried.
Though police have ruled out any foul play in his death, they said the actual cause of
death would only be known after they receive the post mortem report. Sector 11 police have registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC.
In a similar incident on February 1, Sushil Mishra, 35, a resident of Sector 29, fell from the third floor of his house and died under mysterious circumstances. The deceased was working as a cameraperson with a Punjabi news channel.
