A student of medical stream from the city, Sanchit Kumar, has been selected for the International Biology Olympiad (IBO).

CHANDIGARH: A student of medical stream from the city, Sanchit Kumar, has been selected for the International Biology Olympiad (IBO). He is among four others that would be representing India at the event to be held in China in July.
Around 10,000 students from across the country appeared in the qualifying test. IBO is a competition for secondary school students through which their skills in tackling biological problems and handling of experiments related to the subject are tested.

Sanchit, a student of DAV School, Sector 15, told TOI that this was a dream come true. He further said that it was really tough to clear the exam as around 10,000 students appeared in the preliminary test out of which 35 were shortlisted for the next round, which was the orientation-cum-selection camp held in Mumbai. The team was selected there. The other three students selected are from Jaipur, Gujarat and Nashik.
Sanchit scored 92% in Class-XII this year and stood 32nd in the pre-medical test Conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education.
