Chandigarh: 28-year-old held with 52g heroin

CHANDIGARH: The crime branch team of the Chandigarh police arrested 28-year-old Sahil Verma alias Kaku, a resident of Sector 45, for possessing heroin, from near the airport light point on Tuesday.
Upon information, the crime branch team had set up a check post near the light point. Meantime, Sahil stopped his car at a distance after seeing the cops and tried to flee.However, the police nabbed him and recovered 52 gram heroin from his possession. The cops arrested him under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDSP) Act. The police produced the accused before a local court on Wedbesday and sent him in judicial custody for 14 days.
