Panchkula: BJP’s Panchkula candidate Gian Chand Gupta on Wednesday called the manifesto released by Congress candidate Chander Mohan a mere blank paper. Gupta said such things have been written in the manifesto that have already been fulfilled by the BJP.
Gupta said there is talk of giving gas cylinders to women for Rs 500, which the BJP government had already done. The BJP government is also doing the work of providing shelter to the poor. We have already announced to give MSP to farmers on 24 crops in Haryana. Gupta said, “We are finding a permanent solution to the Jhuriwala dumping ground. When Chander Mohan was an MLA, a dumping ground was built here during the Congress rule and its disposal started during our tenure. About two lakh metric tonnes of garbage has been lifted from here. It is very ridiculous that Chander Mohan is talking about starting a pink bus service in Panchkula. If he actually went around in Panchkula, then he will know thata pink bus service is already there.”
Over the promise of improving the condition of link roads and streets, Gupta claimed that he has given crores of rupees in rural areas and work has also been done on them. Gupta said that Chander Mohan, who claims to build new concrete ghats for worship on the Ghaggar, probably does not know that Chhath Ghat had already been built here. CCTV cameras have been installed in various parts of the village. Toilets have also been constructed at public places and tenders have also been issued where they are to be built.
Gupta said, “If Chander Mohan came out of his drawing room in the last five years after losing the election, how would he know how far Panchkula has progressed in terms of development.”
