When monsoon is here, can the festivities surrounding it be far behind. Celebrating the new lease of life that is visible all around with the arrival of rains, city resident are organizing Teej parties at hotels and clubs on Thursday.

CHANDIGARH: When monsoon is here, can the festivities surrounding it be far behind. Celebrating the new lease of life that is visible all around with the arrival of rains, city resident are organizing Teej parties at hotels and clubs on Thursday. DJs, dances, decorated swings and sumptuous Mughlai menu would set the mood at most of these parties.
Organizers of one such party at hotel Peninsula in Panchkula, Charu Gupta, Swati Bansal and Sheeta are expecting over 80 women to join in the fun.

Gupta said, "This is the first time that we are celebrating at a hotel. In keeping with the rejuvenating characteristics of this season, the theme of the party would be 'green. Those turning up for the event would be encouraged to dress up in different shades of green. It is a much-awaited get-together party as all our friends are expected to join in and have a rocking time."
Not willing to miss the gaiety, Neepa Arora of Ladies Aspiration Club said, "We have kept a dress code based on our theme. We are holding a singing contest, in which participants would have to sing songs related to jhulla, bangles, mehndi, payal, bindi and the likes. Moreover, there would be debate competition on a given topic, where groups would be divided into four members each."
"Last year, we organized a competition on dances of different state like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and others. Rangoli contest brought in the vibrant colours," she added.
At a time when the entire city would be decked up with the freshness of rain droplets, can Rock Garden remain a mute spectator? Nek Chand said, "Observed in this region along with the rest of the country, this festival exudes the spirit of monsoon. A grand celebration by the ladies in the morning will be followed by senior citizens in the evening. Right from the foods, decorated swing and the entire decor would add colour to the environment."
