CHANDIGARH: The government’s announcement of restricted holidays on Monday and Tuesday has given some breather to IAS Vijay Dahiya, who was supposed to join the investigations into the alleged cash for passing bills scam of Haryana Skill Development Mission (HSDM).

The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) had last week served a notice on Dahiya to join the investigations, failing which the ACB would proceed against him by procuring his arrest warrant.

According to the notice, the deadline for Dahiya to join the probe ended on Monday. ACB officials said Dahiya had not joined any investigations in either of its offices during official working hours on Monday.

A senior official of the ACB said since Monday and Tuesday were restricted holidays there was a possibility of Dahiya joining the investigations on the next working day. However, if he fails to do so, we will go ahead with our plans, the official added.

The plea for anticipatory bail moved by Dahiya before the Punjab and Haryana high court is also scheduled to come up for hearing this week. He might be waiting to avail this chance, said the officer.
