Case filed after Nepali man found murdered along Pabbar river
Shimla: A day after the body of 36-year-old Rakesh Pratap of Nepali origin was discovered on Wednesday along the Pabbar river, Chirgaon police in Rohru sub-division of Shimla district have registered a case against unidentified persons under Sections 103 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The initial investigation indicates the deceased had sharp weapon injuries on his head, with his hands and feet bound. A forensic team collected evidence from the site. The footage from the CCTV cameras from Feb 17 shows two suspicious individuals with the deceased, prompting ongoing raids across multiple locations to track them down. A dog squad is combing the area, while special police units are investigating using technical and forensic data. An intensive search operation is underway to identify and apprehend the perpetrators, said Shimla senior superintendent of police (SSP) Gaurav Singh.
