Mohali: In a new way of criminals breaking into locked cars, thieves removed a rubber casing of the window at the driver’s side to steal a purse and mobile phone from a vehicle parked at a private university in Kharar here.
In his complaint to police, Amandeep said he had gone for an exam to the university and as mobile and purse were not allowed in the centre, he left them in his car on September 6. When he returned, he found both the items missing even though the car was locked.
