Capt & Shah have ‘general discussion’ ahead of results

Chandigarh: Three days ahead of the outcome of the Punjab legislative assembly, former chief minister and Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) president Captain Amarinder Singh met Union home minister Amit Shah at his residence in New Delhi on Monday. Speaking to media later, Capt said he had “general discussion” on Punjab issues in the meeting, which went on for almost an hour.
He said their meeting had nothing to do about the state assembly elections, but added that the BJP-PLC-SAD (Sanyukt) alliance has done well.Since the election results would be out on March 10, Amarinder said a detailed discussion about the poll outcome would only be done after that. “There are issues which I have discussed which I cannot share with you,” he added.
To a question on their alliance in Punjab, the former chief minister replied, “I am not a Pundit. I am not somebody who can predict the outcome of the polls.” Asked whether he discussed the issue of the appointments in the Bhakra Beas Management Board and the Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation, Amarinder replied in the negative, but claimed that he had written to the Prime Minister on both these issues.
