Natural beauty is eternal but one can always experiment with his or her looks. If there is that one thing that needs to be in your summer makeover list, it's to get your hair coloured. Hair colouring is just not a mere attempt to dye your hair; it is a way to waive off that boring old look of yours and say hello to the new trendy hair styles.
"Honestly for me, getting my hair coloured was quite an imperative decision.

It would attribute another characteristic to my personality. I wanted to get away with the mundane look of mine. So, I chose to get my hair coloured." says Mihika Roy, a final year student at Post Graduate Government College for Girls in Sector 11, who recently got caramel highlights in her hair.
Though there are various styles, you might just love to know what's topping the charts. So this season if you plan to get your hair coloured, go for ombre and highlights that suit your skin tone.
Ombre is a style where the colour of the hair is darker near the roots and lighter in the tips. But it will absolutely be cool to go for reverse ombre. A style which has the made the girls go crazy. It does not only look splendid on long hair alone but also on short, wavy, curly and straight hair. Ombre complements most of the hair textures. "Most of the girls are opting for the ombre style with especially honey, caramel and blonde shades." says Sam, a hair stylist at a salon in Sector 8.
There is no way one can rule highlights out of fashion. They find their way somehow or the other. Babylights, or the natural looking highlights, are on a roll. These highlights are done in an attempt to make the hair look natural which incorporates the sun kissed tones in the hair.
"It is best to choose honey, mahogany and copper shades for highlights this summer. And if you feel like adding that fun element in your hair, red is the colour. Shades of red as ribbons would steal the show for sure." Sam adds.

You also might want to consider the global fashion shades. Dark copper, mahogany, light brown and red reflections are the colours for you. But it's always good to be careful while opting for global style of hair colouring as we all cannot be as bold as Kate Winslet was in "Endless Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" with her orange and green colours.

I have got a mix of blonde almond and pink streaks in my hair. As I want to pursue modeling, the hair colour has really added to my looks and makes me feel more confident and empowered
Nikita Nibber, 19, engineering student at Chitkara University
(Royal blue dress)
I tried to experiment with my look. It is a global style in which I got the mahogany and dark brown shades together all over my hair. This style adds a unique trait to my personality
Karishma Sachdeva, 25, lawyer
(Navy blue dress)
I chose a shade of blonde for the highlights. Hair colouring for me was an attempt to glorify my looks. I think if a hair colour is likely to suit the person, then one can always experiment
Ruchika Oswal, second year BCom student at MCM DAV College for Women, Sector 36
