Boxer Saweety Boora, former Cong min KM Hooda join BJP

Rohtak: Senior Congress leader and former minister Krishan Murti Hooda, boxer Saweety Boora and her husband Deepak Niwas, a kabaddi player, joined the BJP in presence of chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar at the state party headquarters here on Monday.
Krishan Murti Hooda does not share a great relationship with former chief minister and Congress legislature party chief Bhupinder Singh Hooda and had earlier announced to contest against him from the Garhi Sampla-Kiloi constituency. Krishan Murti hails from Khidwali village and was a minister in the Bhajan Lal govt from 1991 to 1996.
Saweety Boora, the world championships gold medallist boxer who had in the past hailed Bhupinder Hooda for his pro-sports policies, also joined the saffron party along with her husband. Saweety hails from Hisar district while her husband Deepak belongs to Chamaria village in the Garhi Sampla-Kiloi assembly segment. The pugilist said she was impressed and inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pro-people policies. Sweety is also a recipient of the Haryana’s Bhim award.
