Bollywood lyricist pens PU anthem

CHANDIGARH: The man who penned lyrics for blockbusters like 'Chameli', 'Jab We Met,' and 'Love Aaj Kal' ' Irshad Kamil ' has now scripted the anthem of his alma mater ' Panjab University. University syndicate selected his entry for the anthem at a meeting held on Saturday.
He will be given a prize of Rs 50,000 for this. Officials said over 30 entries were received for the anthem and a special panel shortlisted two.
The second entry was from Dr Pankaj Mala Sharma, chairperson of music department. Kamil has contacted a Mumbai-based music director for setting the lyrics to a melody. He had studied in University's Hindi department.
