AMBALA: A body, having stab injuries, was found on the Ambala-Saharanpur railway track in Ambala on Friday morning. The deceased was identified as Balaknath, a resident of Yamunanagar, who used to travel daily from Yamunanagar to Ambala by train.
According to information, Balaknath left for work on Thursday morning but did not return at night. As his family members did not know his whereabouts, they boarded a train to Ambala on Friday morning on a lookout for him.

While looking outside for traces of the victim, they saw a body lying shirtless on the Ambala-Saharanpur railway track following which railway police were informed. The deceased was identified as Balaknath by the family members.
The wife of the deceased said, “My husband did not have any grudges with anyone. However, we received a call from his friend stating that he would not come home on Thursday. But when his phone was not reachable on Friday morning, we decided to check at his workplace in Ambala.” She alleged that it was a murder.
Ramesh, one of the daily passengers who used to travel with the deceased, said the area where the body was found was engulfed in darkness during late hours and many theft incidents have been reported earlier as well there.
DSP railway police Sheetal Kumar said, “The investigations indicate towards the fact that there had been a scuffle before the person was murdered. The case would be investigated from every possible angle.” The victim’s mobile phone, wallet and bag were found to be missing from the crime scene. Cops said a case would be registered and the body would be handed over to the family after its post-mortem.
