BLOs to make 3 visits during Hry electoral roll revision
Chandigarh: Booth level officers (BLOs) will make at least three visits to households where enumeration forms are not returned during Haryana's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls from June 15 to July 14, chief electoral officer A Sreenivas said on Wednesday.Addressing a press conference, Sreenivas said BLOs could verify details from neighbours and record reasons such as "absent", "shifted", "dead" or "duplicate" if voters were unavailable.The final electoral rolls will be published on Sept 22, 2026.Lists of voters excluded from draft rolls, along with reasons for exclusion, will be displayed at panchayat bhawans, urban local body offices and block development offices.During door-to-door verification, BLOs will carry Form-6 applications and declaration forms to facilitate enrolment of new voters. tnnSreenivas urged political parties to appoint booth level agents (BLAs). So far, 14,520 BLAs have been appointed, including 6,438 by the BJP and 7,704 by the Congress.The last SIR in Haryana was conducted in 2002. Enumeration forms will be available online from June 15, while helpline number 1950 will operate from 7 am to 9 pm across districts and constituencies.Sreenivas said Haryana's electoral database currently contained around 18% logical errors, including spelling mistakes and incorrect names. Haryana has 2.06 crore registered voters and 20,629 polling stations.Electoral mapping of 1.32 crore voters, or 64.16% of the electorate, has been completed so far. Fatehabad leads with 86.56% mapping, while Gurugram and Faridabad recorded the slowest progress.
