CHANDIGARH: The University School of Allied Health Sciences (USAHS) of Rayat Bahra University celebrated World Book Day by organizing a blood donation camp, emphasizing the importance of literacy and healthcare in society. The event sought to foster a sense of social responsibility among students and faculty members.
In conjunction with World Book Day, Sakshi Bahl, the librarian at RBU, organized an exhibition showcasing medical books.
The blood donation camp was a collaborative effort between Shree Shiv Kanwar Mahasangh Charitable Trust, Panchkula, Punjab Red Cross, Branch, Chandigarh, and the Transfusion Medicine team from Government Multi-specialty Hospital, Sector 16.
Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Vice-Chancellor Dr Parvinder Singh, and former Panjab University VC Dr RC Sobti inaugurated the camp. The Chancellor also participated in the blood donation drive.
According to Dr Pankaj Kaul, Dean of USAHS, the camp received an encouraging response, with over 53 students and faculty members donating blood. RBU Registrar Dr Dinesh Sharma also contributed to the cause. Vice-Chancellor Dr Parvinder Singh praised the donors and organizers for their efforts in making the camp a success.
