The senior leader arrived in Chandigarh on Wednesday on a two-day visit to Punjab.
Rupani said maintaining peace and tranquility in Punjab was the main objective of the BJP and it would never allow the plans of separatist forces to succeed. He said the saffron party’s support in Punjab was increasing day-by-day due to which other political parties in the state were worried.
The Punjab BJP has completed its organisational preparations for the upcoming elections, he said and appealed to the people of Punjab to openly support the party. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a lot of respect and love for the Punjabis.
Regarding Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification, the former CM said: “What kind of satyagraha the Congress party is doing, in which it is including Jagdish Tytler, who was one among those who engineered the Sikh genocide. The opposition by the Congress is unjustified as the Lok Sabha speaker has canceled Rahul’s membership as per the rules.”
Punjab BJP president Ashwani Sharma said the AAP government had caused a lot of damage to Punjabis as not a single day has passed in the state without any incident of murder, robbery, firing, hooliganism, looting or dacoity.
